The Client:
The client, the second-largest dedicated contract carriage provider, provides logistics services for several consumer product industries throughout North America, such as car manufacturers and dealers.
It handles deliveries for various leading companies in a wide range of industries, including automotive, CPG, food, grocery, beverage, manufacturing, quick-service restaurants, healthcare, and convenience store chains.
They came to us in July 2020 facing serious technical and cultural issues with their previous Offshore partner in the Philippines.
The Challenges:
To provide highly-capable talent sharing the same cultural understanding and work ethic as Penske’s team to avoid the former technical and cultural issues they had experienced with offshoring.
Even if we were offering a Nearshore staffing experience, instead of an offshore one, we needed to provide:
- A team of proactive contributors.
- Extensive experience delivering in a virtual context.
- Resources highly proficient in English.
- Excellence in coding fundamentals.
- The right talent, in terms of soft skills, to rapidly immerse themselves into the client culture and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- The perfect match to play instrumental roles in their projects.
The Solution:
We are currently in a partnership with them, providing them with our Staff Augmentation service, a team of 5 people working with Angular, Vue.js, Xamarin, NetCore C#, Docker, and SQLLite.
Our teams have been assigned on several internal development initiatives:
- Inventory Management of the trucking fleet and equipment (using GPS and barcode scanning).
- A custom client portal for managing dealers and auto parts.
- High-priority bugs correction.
- New features implementation.
We have been helping them with our unique nearshore staffing experience, more aligned with their working culture.
On top of that, our talented team (Front & Backend developers, UX Designers, and a Project Manager) brought a higher technical quality in coding fundamentals (testing and security).
The Results:
Thanks to our team’s ability to rapidly understand the project fundamentals and bring in the technical expertise, adapt to guidelines and procedures, and their “give the extra mile” attitude, we were able to:
- Improve the quality of the development, building robust solutions.
- Provide an external team perceived as part of the in-house team, whose knowledge and skills enabled them to perform with solvency and autonomy, without requiring continuous supervision.
