The Client
Creative Group, a Direct Travel company, is an award-winning employee engagement software company, providing web and mobile products to enterprise clients.
Creative was experiencing issues with its current Nearshore partner, including a lack of security best practices and development fundamentals such as Unit Testing and Version Control.
In 2018, they chose Switch as a replacement to provide reliable long-term talent to integrate directly with their internal team.
The Challenges
We needed to provide:
- A team of proactive contributors.
- Extensive experience delivering in a remote context.
- Resources highly proficient in English.
- Excellence in development fundamentals.
- The right talent, in terms of soft skills, to rapidly get onboard and collaborate together with multidisciplinary teams.
The Solution
This is what we have been doing since then.
After four years, we still provide the talent and expertise they need to keep growing through software initiatives better than they could by themselves.
We had several teams working on various proprietary platforms:
Catalog Management System: It is a platform generator where tools are offered to keep records of the activities of the client’s employees to have metrics and to be able to make reports on their performance; on the other hand the employees earn points on the platform that can be redeemed for certain prizes.
Event App: Factory for events application. We are re-writing the app with React Native and fixing some issues that arose with the former one.
Currently, we have three people working on the front-end (Vue, Java Script) back-end (PHP), mobile (React Native), and API development (SQL Server).
The Results
- A retention rate of 100% was achieved across the several teams working for Creative.
- Improved Quality and Performance.
- Software complexity was reduced.
- Reduced development time and increased successful deployments through proper Version Control
