Zenus Bank is a 100% digital financial institution headquartered in San Juan. The company operates with an international banking license, offering Personal, Business, Corporate, and Institutional banking services directly to clients through mobile apps and online banking.

Zenus Bank faced a significant challenge: migrating to a new core banking system. This change impacted numerous critical processes and services, including transaction validation and international fraud detection.
Due to the complexity of this migration and the criticality of these services, Zenus recognized the need for expert testing support to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the highest level of quality and security for their customers.
The complexity was compounded by limited documentation, making it difficult to understand existing system functionalities and design effective tests for the new implementation.
Zenus engaged Switch for QA testing support in September 2023 to address these challenges. Dedicated QA testers from Switch were embedded in the client’s team, tasked with ensuring a smooth transition within a tight four-month deadline.
Switch's team began by thoroughly documenting Zenus's existing application. This crucial step, creating a clear record of how the current system worked, allowed us to understand its workflows and identify potential weaknesses, a vital foundation for a successful migration.
We then conducted comprehensive testing, including requirements gathering, planning, use case development, execution, and analysis, to ensure the software functioned as expected.
Using advanced tools like Jira and Xray, in addition to industry best practices, our QA experts worked closely with Zenus, guaranteeing quality throughout development.
Beyond testing, we helped Zenus build a robust, bank-wide quality assurance process, improving efficiency and ensuring future success.
This involved designing and implementing effective testing methodologies, from test case planning and design to execution and results analysis. Furthermore, we helped establish a continuous improvement framework, ensuring QA processes were flexible enough to adapt to evolving project needs and industry best practices.
In incident management, we designed efficient workflows for identifying, registering, classifying, prioritizing, assigning, tracking, verifying, and closing bugs and incidents. Error-tracking systems were implemented, and communication protocols were established between development, QA, and other stakeholders.


The project went live on schedule and with minimal incidents, a testament to the team's dedication and expertise.
