GIS Developer - AI + Geospatial Intelligence

We’re looking for a GIS Developer to help build the geospatial intelligence layer of a cutting-edge platform that simplifies zoning and building analysis across the U.S.
The product interprets complex zoning codes and GIS data to provide real-time feasibility insights for developers, architects, and homeowners.

In this role, you will focus on ingesting, analyzing, and optimizing GIS data from various sources, supporting the backend development team with high-quality geospatial layers.

• Responsibilities:
• Ingest and clean GIS datasets from state and municipal sources.
• Analyze and validate spatial data quality and completeness.
• Structure and manage geospatial databases using PostGIS.
• Build and optimize geospatial queries and operations using Shapely or similar libraries.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate spatial logic into backend systems.

Requirements:

• Solid knowledge of GIS principles, spatial databases, and geoprocessing techniques.
• Hands-on experience with PostGIS and geospatial formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python, especially with Shapely, Fiona, or GeoPandas.
• Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS).
• Strong communication skills and advanced English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to be available for extended hours when required by project demands.
